For adrenaline junkies there are eight extreme rides to get your blood pumping at Flamingo Land, including Hero, a zero gravity coaster that enables you to emulate your favourite superhero.
Mumbo Jumbo is a real white knuckle ride not for the faint-hearted, featuring a 112 degree vertical drop which once broke the Guinness World Record for the world’s steepest drop.
You can also enjoy the exhilaration of a missile launch and freefall quicker than the speed of gravity on Cliff Hanger and ride the UK’s only motorbike rollercoaster, Velocity, which sees you accelerate from 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds as you race through a circuit of tight hairpins, chicanes and corners.
Throughout the resort there are plenty of rides for families and young children too, including The Lost River Ride, Zooom!, the park’s first aeroplane coaster, and 4D Cinema, where you can catch the spooky Haunted Lighthouse, a gripping film starring Christopher Lloyd brought to life by exciting multi-sensory effects.
Prehistoric themed Dino-Stone Park will also appeal to young kids. The sky’s the limit on Pterodactyl, which will get your stomach spinning 45 metres above the ground. Twistosaurus is guaranteed to put your head in a spin whist you can pedal your own hang-glider on Cyclosaur. There’s also an amazing collection of dinosaurs brought to life with life-like animatronics and dinosaur skeletons for budding archaeologists to explore.
After all that fun make sure you take time to visit the award winning on-site zoo, home to over 140 species of mammals, reptiles and birds from all over the world. See the Selous Rhinos – the latest additions to the zoo for 2016 - get up close to wallabies and lemurs in special walkthrough enclosures and catch up with the progress of the giraffe calves born in 2015.
Flamingo Land Resort and Zoo admission provides access to a range of inclusive Keeper Talks and shows.
