The zoo’s latest exhibit, Islands, is a must visit attraction. Here, six South East Asian islands have been perfectly recreated for you to embark on your own expedition and discover the amazing wildlife from the other side of the world!
Trek through the bamboo forest and look out for Sumatran tigers and record the different species of birds found in the Monsoon Forest. Witness Orangutans swinging in the tree-tops, see snappy residents Sunda gharial crocodiles and observe the macaque monkeys. For a totally different perspective of the islands you can climb aboard a Lazy River Boat Trip from Sumba.
With daily animal talks and feeding sessions to enjoy, you can learn everything about your favourite animals as you wander round the incredible enclosures, including Spirit of the Jaguar, Realm of the Ape, Tsavo Black Rhino experience, Asian Plains and Tropical Realm.
For a truly immersive experience, you can walk through the dark Fruit Bat Forest where you can hear and feel them whizzing around you or enter Butterfly Journey to see over 30 species of butterflies fluttering about in their natural environment.
